ITFU held an International Instructor Course in the Midlands town of Athlone, Ireland in early October.
The event was hosted by local IUTF leader Ms. Mary Mannion (6th Dan) at her amazing state of the art centre.
Day one of the IIC was instructed by ITFU President Grandmaster Don Dalton and Grandmaster Toni Martella of Italy.
There was a large group of participants from England and was also supported by France and Spain.
Day one was focusing predominantly on Tul with GM Martella taking the second session. The evening was completed with a beautiful meal in a nearby hotel which went into the late hours.
Day two was led by Grandmaster Pierpaolo Lecca of Sardinia, Italy and Irish Taekwon-Do legend Grandmaster Norman Creedon.
There was a senior grading on Sunday morning. Master Carlos Martin of Spain was tested to 8th Dan and Master Jason Moriarty of Ireland to 8th. Master Norberto Fabrello of France was tested to 7th Dan. Mr. James Waddington and Mr. Leon Brydone were both successful in their examination to 6th Dan.
Following the testing Grandmaster Lecca instructed Tul up to 2nd Dan and Grandmaster Creedon focused on advanced self defence.
Grandmaster Lecca of course is the Vice President of the Union. In addition Master Martin helped with training lower grade members. GM Creedon closed the two days of intense training by stating “ITF UNION is experiencing massive growth around the world thanks to our open policy and especially due to the phenomenal work of Grandmaster Dalton in particular.
We are a revolution in the Taekwon-Do world.” Grandmaster Dalton thanked everyone for their support and noted the special atmosphere throughout the course, devoid of ego and training together with a true sense of family.
Remember always the words of our beloved Grandmaster Trajtenberg, RIP, in ITFU – HERE NOBODY IS MORE THAN ANYBODY!
